Is a Double bed right for you?

A Double is 135cm wide and 190cm long (4′6″ × 6′3″). It is the entry point for couples, giving each sleeper 67.5cm of width, and it fits a room from 3.0 × 3.0 m.

The appeal is the footprint. A Double is 15cm narrower than a King and 10cm shorter, so in a modest bedroom it leaves noticeably more space for wardrobes, bedside tables and walking around the bed.

It is also a step up from a Small Double (120cm), which is better suited to one person. If you are a couple with room to spare, a King adds 15cm of width and 10cm of length. If space is tight, a Double is the practical choice.
