UK bed sizing follows five standard measurements, and while most people know roughly where their preferred size sits, the exact dimensions and the practical differences between neighbouring sizes are worth knowing properly before you buy.

The Five Standard UK Bed Sizes

• Single — 90 x 190cm. The standard size for a single sleeper, most common in children's and teens' rooms, guest rooms, and smaller bedrooms.
• Small Double — 120 x 190cm. Wider than a Single but sharing the same length, suited to a single sleeper wanting more room, or occasional two-person use in a smaller bedroom.
