This is fundamentally different from drawer storage, which only occupies the space directly under the frame's edges and leaves the centre of the base unused.

Ottoman vs. Drawer Storage: The Real Comparison

• Drawer storage (2 or 4 drawers) gives you easy, no-lifting access to a smaller amount of space, ideal for items you reach for often — bedding, clothing you rotate seasonally.
• Ottoman storage gives you the full underbed footprint — significantly more volume — but requires lifting the mattress to access it, so it suits items you store rather than reach for daily: spare bedding, out-of-season clothes, suitcases.

End-Lift vs. Side-Lift: Which to Choose
